OVERVIEW
Animal Behavior Professionals (ABP) provides dog training and behavior consulting. We focus on using behavior principles and research to assist owners with their dog’s behavior and welfare.
Mindy also performs behavior analysis research on dog behavior through Carroll University. Her research focuses on solving problem behaviors in dogs, including mouthing behavior and behavior problems during veterinary or grooming visits. She tries to identify why the behavior occurs and develop solutions to reduce it. Her research is submitted to peer-reviewed journals and national conferences.
ABP operates out of the Deerfield area in south Wisconsin.
EXPERIENCE
Mindy launched ABP from a desire to apply behavior principles and research to improve the lives of dogs and their families. She received her BS in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, PhD in Molecular Biology (mouse brain development) from the University of Michigan, and MS in Behavior Analysis from Marquette University.
She has several years of group dog training and behavior consulting experience. Mindy is a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (CAAB). All CAABs must meet rigorous standards for academic degrees and animal behavior experience, so there are relatively few in the world!
