EXPERIENCE

Mindy launched ABP from a desire to apply behavior principles and research to improve the lives of dogs and their families. She received her BS in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, PhD in Molecular Biology (mouse brain development) from the University of Michigan, and MS in Behavior Analysis from Marquette University.

She has several years of group dog training and behavior consulting experience. Mindy is a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (CAAB) and has her Certification Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). All CAABs must meet rigorous standards for academic degrees and animal behavior experience, so there are under 50 in the world. To learn more about this certification, please see: https://www.animalbehaviorsociety.org/web/applied-behavior-caab.php

She is a full-time clinical assistant professor of animal behavior at Carroll University and performs research there on companion dog behavior. Her research has been funded by Fear Free Pets and has also received several conference awards.
