Typically, a behavior assessment is used to answer a question about the likelihood of a dog to engage in certain  behaviors (e.g., aggression), be able to live safely with other people or pets, or enjoy a good quality of life.

Sometimes owners want an assessment performed to determine how to proceed with a dog with a behavior problem. In other instances, some residences or neighborhoods require that dogs with a bite history be assessed to determine risk for allowing the dog to live in that community.

Whatever your needs, we work with dog owners/caregivers to determine what needs to be assessed and then provide a written assessment of the dog’s behavior. This includes the dog’s behavioral history, risk across multiple contexts and variables, and risk/quality of life in the proposed home or environment.

Note: Although these assessments make informed hypotheses regarding risk, we never make guarantees regarding any animal’s future behavior.
